This is an invasion unlike any other, and I don’t mind throwing up the flag early and surrendering on this one. The British are DEFINITELY coming, in the form of the amazing and fashionable Spring collection from Motel Rocks! Motel Rocks.

This well established brand has been overseas in the UK for a number of years, providing women with figure flattering contemporary silhouettes in the form of dresses, playsuits, tops & much more – all in funky, bright and unique prints. Of course, the best part about these styles is that they are all offered at super affordable prices! This year, they’ve started their US invasion – and it is definitely causing a stir.

I first learned of the brand about two years ago, and was immediately hooked on their assortment. Of course, like any true fashionista, I also fell in love with the exclusivity of the items, due to the fact that they were a UK brand and not as well-known here in the US.

It was almost as if I had stumbled upon fashion treasure – & believe me when I say I was certainly in NO rush to share! However, now that the word is out, I will share two small pieces of the gold I have recently struck – a sexy & striking bodycon mini dress & a to-die-for cut out playsuit.

A first date can of course bring about an array of emotions, the biggest of course being the indecisiveness that comes about when its time to choose the perfect outfit. The old “a closet full of clothes & nothing to wear” was no match for me this time, because I had the winner selected days in advance. The Motel Zoe Bodycon Dress in Aztec Pastel Print was my armor for the evening, and it more than delivered.

Being a petite girl, it is often hard to find a dress that fits and flatters correctly, which is why I considered this garment to be such a Godsend. It hugged in all the right places, but offered enough coverage to leave a little something to the imagination. Paired with nude accessories and understated  jewelry, the dress was able to speak for itself – and that it did!

Later in the same weekend, I found myself in a bind when it came to choosing a piece to don for my younger cousin’s graduation party. As it was both a dressy and family occasion, I knew I couldn’t be too over the top.

Without hesitation, I chose to rock the Rita Cut-Out Back Playsuit in the Black & Green New Check print. The light and silky fabric it featured could not have been more perfect for this outdoor get together. Since this type of garment was probably designed for someone over 5′ tall, a few little tweaks to the length of the playsuit were necessary, which I easily achieved by adding a black belt and letting the top blouse over. The high neckline made it the perfect match for my new statement necklace, and the small back cut outs made the material even more breathable - a must in 85 degree heat!

I know they say that it’s the girl that makes the clothes, but in this case I must disagree. My new pieces of fashion gold certainly made ME, and made my weekend wardrobe anxiety non-existent as result!
